The Department of Geography at Millat College, a prominent constituent unit of Lalit Narayan Mithila University, Darbhanga, Bihar, was established in 2011. The mission of the Geography Department is to provide students with an in-depth understanding of the physical and human dimensions of geography. Departmental Rules
- A minimum of 75% attendance in classes is mandatory to be eligible to appear for the final examinations, in accordance with university regulations.
- Students must return any borrowed books or resources from the Departmental Library before collecting their admit cards for the final exams.
- Active participation in fieldwork, seminars, workshops, and environmental awareness programs organized by the department is expected from all students.
- Students must appear for Class Tests, Pre-Tests, and Test Examinations as these are essential for evaluating academic progress and understanding of the subject.
- Students must inform the Head of Department (HoD) in writing in case of absence for more than seven consecutive days due to illness or other valid reasons.
- Students must take proper care of departmental resources, including maps, equipment, computers, and GIS software, and report any damage immediately.
- Students must uphold academic integrity, avoiding plagiarism, cheating, or any form of dishonesty in assignments, projects, and examinations.
- Students must dispose of waste in the designated dustbins and maintain cleanliness within the department and the campus at all times.
- Students must switch off lights, fans, and other electronic devices when leaving classrooms or common areas to conserve energy.
- Students should maintain a respectful attitude toward faculty, peers, and departmental staff, contributing to a healthy academic environment free from discrimination or harassment.
