About The Department
The Department of Zoology at Millat College, a prestigious constituent unit of Lalit Narayan Mithila Darbhanga,Bihar.the department of Zoology was one of the nice departments with which the academic journey of millat college began in 1964.All aspects of animal life, ranging from microscopic single-celled protozoa to vertebrates come under the realm of ZOOLOGY. Zoology is a conglomeration of several disciplines such as Genetics, Physiology, Ecology, Developmental Biology, Microbiology, Parasitology, Entomology, Freshwater Biology, Fisheries, and Wildlife etc. Hence, it has become the home to a thriving community of researchers who are attracted to the science how whole organisms develop, function, behave, interact and evolve.

Vision
The Zoology Department envisions itself as a vibrant hub for the exploration of the natural world and the promotion of scientific literacy. Despite limited research facilities in our department, our vision is to create an inclusive learning environment that sparks intellectual curiosity and encourages students to become stewards of biodiversity. We aspire to instill in our graduates a sense of responsibility, ethical conduct, and a commitment to the sustainable coexistence of humans and the animal kingdom.
Mission
The mission of the Zoology Department at Gour Mahavidyalaya is to provide a comprehensive and enriching undergraduate education in zoological sciences. We aim to foster a deep understanding of the diversity, structure, function, and behavior of the animal kingdom. Our mission is to cultivate curiosity, critical thinking, and a passion for scientific inquiry among students, empowering them with the knowledge and skills needed for successful careers and lifelong learning.

Students in the Department of Zoology have access to many different opportunities and enhancements meant to further their content knowledge as well as their academic careers.
Department Rules
- Attendance as per the University norms is mandatory for appearing in the final examination.
- Students must carry college ID card.
- Students must be well informed about the notices on the departmental noticeboard.
- A student must appear in the class tests. Students must carry apron, gloves, goggles during their practical classes.
- Students must help to maintain a healthy academic atmosphere and sanctity of thedepartments.

- Motivating them to involve in project works to inculcate practical awarness.
- To conduct extra classes for the difficult topics in the curriculum.
- Slow learners are specially advised and counselled by mentor and the subject expert.
- Helping them to prepare their work in seminars at the college and inter-college level.
- Remedial classes are conducted for the weaker students based on the results of the class-tests.
